Day 1

Awesome Adelaide

Your Lions adventure starts in Adelaide. Check-in to the beautiful InterContinental Adelaide for 5 nights. 

The InterContinental Adelaide, nestled by the River Torrens, neighbours key attractions like The Festival Centre, Convention Centre, and Casino. The hotel offers 367 rooms, fine dining at Riverside and Shiki, an Atrium Lounge, Club InterContinental, and a Fitness Centre. Plenty to do on your first day in Adelaide, enjoy an evening meal or drink in one of the hotel’s restaurants and take in the views of Adelaide on your first night.

Day 2

WINE TOUR EXCURSION

What better way to start your stay in Adelaide than with a complimentary wine tour excursion at a local Adelaide vineyard. Here you have the opportunity to meet with other Lions fans at the start of the tour over a great glass of Australian wine. 

Day 3

VISIT KANGAROO ISLAND

Just off the coast of Adelaide lies Kangaroo Island, an enchanting haven of unspoiled beauty and abundant wildlife. Accessible by ferry, it’s a sanctuary where visitors can immerse themselves in pristine landscapes and diverse ecosystems. From the iconic Remarkable Rocks to the captivating Seal Bay Conservation Park, opportunities for exploration abound.

Encounter kangaroos, koalas, and native birds in their natural habitat, or simply relax on secluded beaches with crystal-clear waters. With its rugged coastline, lush forests, and charming coastal towns, Kangaroo Island offers an unforgettable escape into nature’s embrace, just a stone’s throw from Adelaide.

Day 4

INVITATIONAL AU & nZ V THE LIons

Watch the Invitational AU & NZ v The Lions match at the Adelaide Oval.  

Pre-Test games don’t come much bigger than the Invitational AU & NZ side in Adelaide, a unique occasion that will be a fitting curtain raiser to the Test in Brisbane. 

Day 5

Exploring ADELAIDE HILLS

Visiting the Adelaide Hills promises a scenic retreat just a stone’s throw from the bustling city. Rolling vineyards, charming towns, and lush landscapes create an inviting ambiance. Wine aficionados can indulge in tastings at renowned cellar doors, while nature lovers can explore bushwalks in Mount Lofty Botanic Garden or Cleland Conservation Park.

As the day winds down, exquisite dining experiences await, showcasing local flavours and wines. A visit to the Adelaide Hills is a refreshing escape, offering a perfect blend of nature, culture, and great food. 

Day 6

ADELAIDE TO ULURU

After a fabulous few days in Adelaide its off to awe-inspiring Uluru. 

A transfer will pick you up from the InterContinental Adelaide and take you to the airport. From there you will take an internal flight to Uluru, where you will again be greeted by Lions Rugby Travel staff, who will direct you to your transfer on route to Sails in the Desert Hotel, Uluru. 

Check-in to Sails in the Desert hotel for 2 nights. Sails in the Desert, inspired by Aboriginal art work, is nestled for Outback exploration only a 5 minute walk from the Uluru Lookout, offering stunning sunrise and sunset views. With an outdoor pool, tennis court, bar/restaurant and day-spa, it’s at the entrance to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. 

Day 7

Uluru experience

Seeing Uluru is a special experience.

The ancient monolith stands as a majestic symbol of Australia’s spiritual and cultural heritage and on this complimentary excursion you get to experience the magic of it.

Day 8

Uluru to gold coast

After experiencing the mighty Uluru, a transfer will pick you up from Sails in the Desert hotel and drop you off at the airport. You will then be met at Brisbane airport after an internal flight from Uluru. A transfer will then take you from the airport to The Star Grand at The Star Gold Coast.

The Star Grand at The Star Gold Coast is situated in the central hub of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast of Australia. The hotel is nestled within 7 acres of landscaped gardens and parklands. Day 9

EXPLORING SURFERS PARADISE

Day 10

take a day trip to a Themepark

The Gold Coast is renowned for its large selection of theme parks. 

Dreamworld offers a mix of high-speed roller coasters and immersive attractions, including wildlife experiences and interactive exhibits. Movie World’s Hollywood-inspired rides and live entertainment captivate audiences of all ages. For those seeking water-based thrills, Wet’n’Wild’s exhilarating slides and wave pools provide an adrenaline rush. Even Sea World offers attractions like roller coasters and animal encounters suitable for all ages.

Day 11

LIONS DEN & FIRST TEST

Start the day at the famous Lions Den, the ultimate Lions pre-match party. A festival of non-stop, high energy matchday entertainment. Celebrity talent, rugby legends, live music, food and drink. The Sea of Red like never before with incredible experiences and atmosphere. The best of the best matchday event for fans in Australia.

Then it’s time for the First Test. This will be the first time in eight years the Sea of Red will unite overseas behind the greatest touring rugby team in the world to create an atmosphere that will crackle with expectation, passion and the songs and hymns of four proud nations. There is nothing like the first Test of a Lions Tour and this will be something to behind, a unique moment in the history of this great team.

Day Trip to Adelaide

Wednesday 30 July - Departs 9:30 AM / Returns 17:00 PM

The Barossa is in South Australia, about 70km north-east of Adelaide, the state’s capital city.   Your trip will include a visit of the city centre, The State Library of South Australia and lunch at a local wine bar and kitchen. 

The State Library is the information heart of South Australia, located in the North Terrace Cultural Precinct.  You will have the opportunity to explore all three buildings: the award-winning contemporary Catherine Helen Spence Wing with its iconic glass foyer, the Mortlock Wing with its 19th century Victorian splendour, and the 1861 heritage listed Institute Building.

Sweeping stadium views, stylish bar and lounge, premium menu and extensive wine list.  Bespoke Wine Bar & Kitchen is one of Adelaide’s most impressive dining experiences.

Extending across level three of Oval Hotel and into the iconic Adelaide Oval, Bespoke’s unique setting makes a stunning backdrop lunch.

Executive Chef Daniel Simpson’s modern Australian menu brings bold flavours to life through fresh, seasonal produce.  Two drinks are included, and you may choose from house wine, beer or a soft drink.

After lunch you will be transferred to the North Terrace, Adelaide city where you can choose to spend your time either at Rundle Mall, The Art Gallery of South Australia or South Australian Museum.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  We have been advised that the carpet is being replaced in the Mortlock Chamber (section of the library) and we are now unable to conduct tours through this section during July so we will amend the Private tour of the State Library slightly and now include access to the basement (old & rare artifacts storage) which is an area of the library usually inaccessible to the public. 

 

Private 60 minute tour of State Library of South Australia | 30 July 2025 – 11:00am

Guests will have the opportunity to explore one of South Australia’s great institutions and take a look behind the shelves. An expert librarian will take you on a walk sharing stories of how the State Library began. Your experience starts at the historic Adelaide Circulating Library to learn the history of the building. By 1861, the collection of books held there was to became the first public library in South Australia. The Adelaide Circulating Library has been used in the past as a backdrop to several movies including Shine and Gallipoli. Continue your way to the basement to see some of the interesting old & rare artifacts housed in the library. Discover how the state’s most important treasures are maintained in the state-of-the-art storage and how the preservations team cares for the collection.
