Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest and most vibrant city. Home to around 1.6 million people. As the country’s commercial and retail hub, Auckland is a dynamic destination where business, culture and leisure come together.

Set between two sparkling harbours Auckland is surrounded by natural beauty. The region is home to 48 volcanic cones and numerous islands scattered throughout the stunning Hauraki Gulf. Known as the “City of Sails,” Auckland boasts one of the highest rates of boat ownership in the world, with thousands of yachts dotting its waterways.

To the west, the Waitākere Ranges offer a striking contrast to the city skyline, featuring native rainforest, scenic walking trails and dramatic black-sand surf beaches along the rugged west coast.

Auckland is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, with a rich blend of cultures and communities. Residents come from a variety of backgrounds, including European, Asian, Pacific and Māori heritage. Creating a diverse and welcoming atmosphere reflected in the city’s food, arts and local events.

Auckland enjoys a mild, temperate climate throughout the year. Summers, from December to March, are warm and pleasant, with average daytime temperatures exceeding 24°C. While winters remain relatively mild, averaging around 16°C. The city experiences prevailing westerly winds helping to maintain comfortable conditions all  year-round.
