Whitsundays

new experiences around every corner

Visitors are frequently humbled by the sheer ever-changing beauty of the Whitsundays. With 74 idyllic islands – including Hamiton Island – expansive tropical coastline, and the reef that surrounds it, this is an extraordinary natural paradise where unforgettable memories are forged.

The Whitsundays are in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, 150km north of Mackay and 200km south of Townsville. The region stretches from Proserpine in the south to Bowen in the north; west from Collinsville and east to Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday islands, an archipelago of green islands and sandy atolls surrounded by tropical blue waters.

Hamilton Island is one of Australia’s most spectacular island destinations. Here you’ll be surrounded by pristine white beaches, and a kaleidoscope of coral and marine life making it a perfect base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the stunning expanse of Whitehaven Beach.
